I had a pleasant stay at the Coachman, where I enjoyed the comfort of the upgraded room. The staff were helpful and friendly, making me feel welcome throughout my visit. I appreciated the convenience of underground parking, which made my arrival stress-free. The kitchenette in the room was handy, and the bathroom felt relatively new. The pool area was nice, although it could use some landscaping improvements.
Not one thing 😕.

Arriving was a nightmare—no one at the counter, and I felt completely ignored. To top it off, the room was dirty and the heater didn’t work, making for a really uncomfortable stay. It honestly felt neglected and unwelcoming.

Great Stay at the Coachman for Business!
The hotel's public facilities were fantastic, with complimentary access to the outdoor swimming pool, spa pool, and gym, allowing me to unwind after a long day of meetings. The 24-hour reception was helpful, making check-in and check-out a breeze, while the room service offered a good selection of meals that were just a call away. having complimentary car parking available was a considerable convenience, especially in this busy area.
Minor upkeep needed.

The onsite restaurant offered a convenient dining option with breakfast and dinner choices that were both well-priced and nicely presented. The location was great for exploring nearby landmarks like the New Zealand Rugby Museum and the lovely Victoria Esplanade, perfect for family bonding time. The outdoor pool and garden area provided a relaxing atmosphere, enhancing our overall experience.

Staff all pleasant
Wirless internet connection was hopeless. They operate an unsecured wireless network and as such many laptops will not operate due to firewalls. I would not stay there again for that reason. Better off to have wired internet connection like most other hotels

Great location, easy parking, very pleasant staff. The hotel part was beautiful. I wanted the weekend to feel a bit special as it was my daughter's first 'proper' ball, and this was so much better than a motel but still a reasonable price. The foyer was a great place for photos when her escort collected her. And the staff were just lovely -- very helpful and welcoming.
The room was rather cold (but the heater worked well). The bathroom was very cold (window open, no heater. Had to stand on a chair to shut the window). We both needed the extra blankets that were in the wardrobe -- electric blankets would have been very welcome. My daughter was going to a school ball, and the lighting was terrible for doing make-up -- all the lights were overhead, very harsh and not flattering at all! I also gave up on trying to get the wifi to work -- the only example in the instructions was for PCs and I had a Mac, so I figured you can't usually expect help with that. Usually the Mac does the work for you, but I couldn't get it to recognise the network. Never mind, I just worked on a document I'd brought with me. One more small gripe -- there was no sanitary disposal. Even opaque disposal bags would have been helpful as the bathroom bin has no lid.

Also, location was particularly good, within walking distance of Te Manawa Museum. The restaurant here was nice for dinner, we both ordered freshly cooked dishes.
